Legal Advice Disclaimer
Last updated: 11 June 2026
1. No legal advice
ExpatWill.ae / Online Will LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or personalised legal recommendations.
We provide general legal information about the will registration process only. We also provide a structured document preparation and administrative submission-handling service to help users organise their instructions into a format suitable for Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) review and registration.
Users remain responsible for the choices they make, the instructions they provide, and the information they enter into the platform.
2. What ExpatWill.ae provides
ExpatWill.ae is a self-guided online platform designed to help users complete the information required to generate a structured will document.
The platform guides users through the required steps and questions, collects factual information and will instructions, and uses that information to populate predefined fields in a will template formatted to align with ADJD submission requirements.
Our role is similar to an administrative document preparation service. For example, a visa processing company may gather client information, complete government forms, prepare supporting documents, and submit an application through the relevant government portal. The government authority still reviews the application, decides whether it meets the relevant requirements, and either approves it or requests changes.
In the same way, ExpatWill.ae helps users organise their factual information and will instructions into the required document format. ADJD remains responsible for reviewing the document, approving it for registration, and completing the final notarisation process.
3. Guidance provided by the platform
The platform provides guided prompts, explanations, and general information to help users understand what information is being requested and how the will registration process works.
This guidance is intended to help users complete the process clearly, accurately, and consistently. It does not involve applying the law to a user's personal circumstances, making legal judgments, or recommending specific legal outcomes.
Users remain fully in control of the choices they make and the information they provide. The contents of the will remain the user's instructions.
While ExpatWill.ae does not provide legal advice, the platform is designed to guide users through a structured process intended to help reduce common omissions, inconsistencies, and formatting issues.
4. Will registration process
The ADJD will registration process involves several stages, including document submission, review by an ADJD court clerk, approval for registration, appointment scheduling, and final notarisation.
ExpatWill.ae operates at the document preparation and registration support stage. In some cases, users may submit their will directly to ADJD. In other cases, ExpatWill.ae may handle the ADJD submission process on the user's behalf as an administrative service.
Where we handle submission, we do so using the user's factual information and will instructions. The user remains the testator, the contents remain the user's instructions, and ADJD remains responsible for reviewing the document, deciding whether it meets ADJD requirements, approving it for registration, and completing the final notarisation process.
ExpatWill.ae does not act as a legal advisor, does not replace ADJD's review function, and does not decide whether a will should be accepted or registered. We may provide general guidance on the remaining ADJD registration steps so users understand what to expect.
5. ADJD review and notarisation
Any review, assessment, approval, or notarisation of a will is carried out exclusively by ADJD as part of its official process.
ADJD's review relates to procedural, formatting, and submission requirements in force at the time of registration. It does not mean that ExpatWill.ae has provided legal advice or that ADJD has endorsed ExpatWill.ae as a legal advisor.
ExpatWill.ae does not, on an individual basis, review or assess the legal validity of the information entered by users. We do not replace ADJD's review function, and we do not decide whether a will should be approved for registration.
6. Licence and authority
ADJD does not operate a separate accreditation scheme for private will draftspersons or online will preparation platforms.
In practice, will preparation companies commonly operate under general trade licence activities covering document preparation, client data processing, administrative support, form creation, translation or interpretation support, and related services.
ExpatWill.ae / Online Will LLC operates under relevant UAE trade licence activities. Our role is to help users organise their information and instructions into the required format and, where applicable, support them through the ADJD registration workflow.
7. Court fees
Any ADJD or government fees associated with will review, registration, or notarisation are paid through ADJD systems.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, ADJD and government fees are separate from any ExpatWill.ae platform or service fees.
8. Automated checks for completeness and consistency
To assist users, the platform may provide automated informational alerts where information appears to be missing, incomplete, or internally inconsistent.
These alerts are generated using predefined, rules-based checks and are intended to help users review their entries for completeness and alignment. They do not assess legal validity, provide legal advice, or recommend what should or should not be included.
All final decisions about document content remain with the user.
9. Responsibility for information entered
Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all information they enter, including but not limited to names, dates of birth, identification details, family details, asset information, beneficiary details, guardian details, executor details, and trustee details.
ExpatWill.ae does not independently verify user-provided information unless expressly stated as part of a specific service.
10. Registration, interpretation, and platform support
Wills prepared using our platform are reviewed by ADJD as part of the registration process. This review relates to procedural and submission requirements in force at the time of registration.
Requests for clarification or amendment during the ADJD registration process are part of the normal registration workflow.
After registration, a will may later be interpreted or applied by a court in connection with administration, inheritance, guardianship, or related matters. The interpretation or application of a will is outside our control and does not form part of the services we provide.
Where a will prepared through our platform requires clarification, amendment, or further document-related steps in connection with the registration process or subsequent procedural requirements, we will provide reasonable assistance and guidance within the scope of our platform and service offering.
11. Independent legal advice
Any legal information provided through the platform is general in nature and is not a substitute for professional legal advice.
Users may seek independent legal advice at any time if they wish, particularly where their circumstances are complex, where they have assets in multiple countries, where there may be potential disputes, or where they are unsure about the legal effect of their instructions.
